A Horror Anthology Television Series

“Living Nightmares,” a captivating late-night horror anthology series, unravels its eerie tales under the guidance of a mysterious character known only as ‘The Guide.’ This enigmatic figure, portrayed as the Grim Reaper, ushers viewers into his shadowy domain located beneath an ancient mausoleum, nestled in a forgotten corner of the cemetery. Produced and directed by Jason Montney, the series invites its audience into a realm where darkness and storytelling intertwine.

After his daily endeavors of soul collection, The Guide retreats to his secluded cabin, nestled within the cemetery’s depths. It is here, amidst the silence of the night, that he weaves his narratives, entertaining a spectral audience that congregates outside his dwelling, eager for his chilling tales.

The Guide’s sanctuary is a treasure trove of curiosities — an eclectic collection of trinkets, dolls, statuettes, paintings, and artifacts from across the globe and the annals of history. Each piece, a silent witness to the myriad encounters The Guide has had with humanity, serves as a portal into the story of the week, offering viewers a glimpse into the grim and the macabre.

The connection between The Guide and these collected oddities is profound and simple: as the Grim Reaper, these items are mementos of his endless voyages through the realm of the living. Each object on display holds a dark tale — perhaps the pocket watch on the table was a final gift to a man betrayed, or the shovel in the corner was instrumental in uncovering a long-buried secret.

Through “Living Nightmares,” Jason Montney crafts a unique narrative experience, blending the allure of horror storytelling with the intrigue of the objects that inspire them, all while under the watchful eye of The Guide, a storyteller with the most eternal of perspectives.

The Guide is known throughout the world because of his profession… he is the Grim
Reaper. Each night, after a long day of collecting the souls of the damned, he returns to his old cabin where he spins his tales for an audience of the dead that gathers outside.

The Guide’s realm is a borders paradise of trinkets, dolls, statuettes, paintings, and other objects from all over the world and throughout time. These objects are what The Guide uses to introduce the story of the week to the viewers due to the fact that each object is connected to the story he’s telling.

So what is the connection between The Guide and these objects on his shelves? It’s quite simple: he is the Grim Reaper and these objects are his little souvenirs from the countless encounters he has come across with, from the living over the centuries.

Perhaps the pocket watch lying on his table once belonged to an old man who was murdered; or maybe that shovel in the corner was used to dig up a body that had been hidden in a shallow grave for decades.
